THE NYC XPERIENCE

MR LOVE MEET BILL BEAVER BILLY LOVE (AKA WILLIAM BEAVER, TRE.B.L., BEAVERTRONIX) IS A HOUSE AND TECHNO VOCAL TIME CAPSULE & PRODUCER. BORN IN DETROIT, HE IS MOST KNOWN FOR HIS VOCAL WORK AND SINGING IN THE EARLY DAYS OF THE TECHNO SCENE, BUT THE TOTALITY OF HIS WORKS SPAN THE GENRES OF COSMIC FUNK, DANCE, NEW WAVE, R & B, AND JAZZ.

COMING FROM A FAMILY OF LEGENDARY MOTOWN SINGERS, BEAVER GREW UP WITH A MICROPHONE IN HIS HAND. AS A YOUNG BOY, HE SANG WITH 80S GROUP KIARA (ARISTA RECORDINGS) AND LATER BECAME A KEY SINGER IN THE FORMATIVE UNDERGROUND RESISTANCE GROUP MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE (1993). Proving there is space for vocals in the futuristic soul sound, the foundational band was often referred to as “The Temptations of Techno”.
Being called the “quintessential house vocalist”, he has led vocals and been featured with many legendary Detroit and New York artists In 1994 he appeared on “Where would I be” on Back to Basics with Eddie Fowlkes. Moving to NYC in 1996 he met up with Ron Trent and led vocals on “The Answer” (Prescription Records). Always pushing forward on the edge of new sounds, in 2000 he appeared on “I See the Light” and “Fly Away” as part of The Kings of Late Night on the untouchable New York label West End Records. These successes led the way for appearances with 3 Chairs on “I Wonder Why” and several recordings with Rick Willhite including “Don’t Blame it on the Boogie”, along with Kenny Dope Gonzalez and Charles Spencers “If It Feels Good” (Dopewax). This same year, he did a series of influential works with Theo Parrish including “Seasons of my Life” on Rotating Assembly and finally “Melloghettomental” produced on Sound Signature. Jumping into a new decade and teaming up with some younger artists. He led the successful sounds of “Thrillseekers aka FBI - Female Body Inspector” with Seth Troxler and Chuck Daniels, which continues to be played and remixed widely each year. He has been featured on many soulful remixes and produced projects with well known DJs like Moodyman (Kenny Dixon Jr), Jeff Mills, Mike Banks, Kevin Saunderson, Carl Craig, Derrick May, Mike Clark, Derwin Hall, DJ Godfather, and Detroit Techno Militia T. Linder. His most recent project, Celebrity BBQ Sauce Band, released in spring 2021 brings back the spicy soul of funk with Gerald Mitchell (aka “The Deacon” (UR044)), produced on Universal Frequency Modulation (Beaver’s Own Label) and Gerald Mitchell International distributed by Kenny Dixon’s Mahogani Music. The limited release LP sold out in less than two months. The moral of Billy Love’s story : when you think of that voice you remember that’s singing through your head after a night where your soul feels cleansed, check the record label, you will likely find Mr Love’s name secretly slipped in with out you even knowing.
